The Department of Laboratory Medicine includes Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, Serology, Cytology and Histopathology Services, which are well equipped with state-of-Art equipments to perform various tests in each department. Fully automated chemistry analyser (MINDRAY- BS430), Hormone analyser (VIDAS), ELISA analyser (Human Reader), Semi Automated Chemistry Analyser(Span), Electrolyte Analyser (i- smart), 5 Part Differential Haematology Cell Counter (Horriba Pentra ES 60 & SYSMEX), Semi Automated Coagulation Analyser (Tulip), Urine analyser, Biosafety Cabinet , Tissue Processor (YORKO), Microtome , Tissue Floatation Bath , Microscopes (NIKON & LAB MED) to aid in diagnosis of different clinical diseases within the prescribed Turn Around Time.
Our laboratory performs quality control programme with IQC & EQAS. EQAS programme included CMC Vellore and AIIMS.
Vijay Marie Hospital laboratory is actively engaged in teaching and training the Medical post graduates of clinical departments and nursing under graduates. Research is also an inherent part of the training programme.
The department works 24x7 in close collaboration with all the clinical specialities as and when required to ensure prompt and accurate diagnosis.
