Vijay Marie Hospital & Educational Society has been accredited by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) since 2012, with a commitment to impart strong clinical knowledge and practical skills to postgraduate DNB students across various broad specialties. Currently, we are accredited for Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, and Family Medicine, with plans to include General Medicine and DCH in Paediatrics soon. Additionally, we introduced the Fellowship in Neonatology in 2010, affiliated with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics.
The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India, New Delhi. The prime objective of NBE is to improve the quality of medical education by elevating its level and establishing HIGH and Uniform Standards of Post Graduate and Post-Doctoral Examinations in Modern Medicine on all India Basis. DNB qualifications awarded by NBE are equivalent to MD/MS/ Qualifications awarded by other Indian Universities for all Purposes.
Since 2012, all 11 batches of our DNB postgraduate doctors have achieved a 100% pass rate in their final examinations—a testament to the dedication and excellence of our DNB teaching faculty. We take great pride in sharing that two of our esteemed postgraduate teachers from the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr. Sr Susheela Gayam and Dr. Meera Rajagopal, were honoured with the ‘eminent postgraduate teacher’ award by the Association of national board accredited institutions (ANBAI) in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
PG TEACHING PROGRAM CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING:

Our dedicated DNB postgraduate teaching faculty strives to ensure that students become clinically proficient through a consistent and comprehensive teaching schedule. Students are guided to make sound clinical judgments in diagnosis and management, equipped with the necessary skills to handle a wide range of cases confidently, and are instilled with a strong foundation in medical ethics for daily practice. In pursuit of continuous improvement, the hospital has established well-equipped conference rooms, technologically advanced lecture halls, and a well-stocked library featuring the latest journals and books. Moreover, Vijay Marie Hospital is registered with the Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, for academic research activities. These resources have greatly enhanced learning and research opportunities for both Postgraduate Medical and Nursing students at the institution.
