Vijay Marie School of Nursing, a unit of the Vijay Marie Hospital Educational Society—a charitable institution—was established in 1973. Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and Telangana State Nursing Council, the school was founded to educate young women, particularly from underprivileged backgrounds, and prepare them for compassionate service in healthcare. Guided by the motto “Lighted to Lighten,” the school empowers students with professional skills, self-confidence, and economic independence. It also trains religious sister-students from various congregations to serve in rural and urban health sectors. Emphasizing holistic formation—spiritual, moral, intellectual, cultural, and social—the school instils a deep sense of dedication to serve the poor and marginalized.
Vijay Marie added to its legacy of excellence by launching the B.Sc. (Nursing) program in 2003 and the M.Sc. (Nursing) program in 2013. Committed to academic excellence and social responsibility, these programs quickly received recognition and approval from all relevant statutory bodies, including the University, Government, and the Indian Nursing Council. We are proud to have successfully completed 50 batches of GNM, 20 batches of B.Sc. (Nursing), and 9 batches of M.Sc. (Nursing) to date.
